ATV International use

Anyone know specs on ATV's electrical connections?

If I buy an ATV in the states and and switch the power cord once I get back to the Netherlands will this be a problem?

I have a state based i-tunes account and billing address so I should be able to rent and download movies. These services are currently not provided by the Dutch i-tunes store.

If swithcing the cable is an issue and I purchase an ATV here in the Netherlands will I be able to rent and download movies via my american i-tunes account? Or is there a sneaky filter that would prevent me from doing so?

Thanx for any advice.

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.

All you need to have the tv wired and working would be a different lead. So far as your US itunes account is concerned, I believe you can certainly buy music, tv shows etc with your account abroad although I'm not sure about the position with rentals.

I can't say I've seen anyone complain that they can't but I do recall this matter was discussed previously on the forum. Perhaps it was a pre-rental release discussion and the matter was put up for debate rather than being reported as a problem.

I recently bought an ATV in the US and have it now in Shanghai, China. I'm using the US-based cord (marked 110VAC) in the 220V China plugs without issue. You may need an adaptor for the Netherlands.

I'm also using my US-based iTunes account to successfully get music, video purchases and now also rentals. My internet speed isn't the greatest but it gets it done eventually...

ATV works on 110V and 220V, no problem. It does not matter where your ATV is from, as long as you have and pay for a US iTunes account, you could rent movies, purchase US TV shows etc. I say "could" because it may be a) against the terms and conditions, b) illegal and c) if a lot of people do this, iTunes restrictions may become more stringent.
