Unknown Error # 4000 when i try to burn cds

I'm having the same problem.... used to burn...

What's really going on! I've had the problem ever since I updated to the new version. No one seems to care at itunes right now and doesn't care to fix the problem. I say we all rebell and demand a refund of all music purchased. I keep getting the error code (4280). Anyone figure this out yet?

Im having this problem could burn discs before though has anyone come back to you?

I just started getting this error too, and never had issues burning before. Has anyone come up with a solution!?

I'm receiving the message "Device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media" Hoping for an answer from someone.

Well, I get exactly the same 4... error towards the end of the process! Never had problems before and just for the record, created a CD of same tracks using Ashampoo without any problems.

The exact same problem is happening to me, what is the solution?! I've already wasted several blank discs!

omg...my computer has been doing the same thing. it's really annoying, i could burn discs up until like a week ago. I'm a dancer and i really need to be able to make cds of my songs. it's really started to make me mad. i already wasted quite a few cds. i hope someone finds an answer to this problem. if i do i will be sure to post it here.

I am having the same problem, and it is really freaking me out because over 95% of my music is saved in my iTunes Library, and all my original discs have been resold on Ebay. As you all know...once you save them in iTunes, there is no way to access the music file in the Microsoft Mediaplayer. I have tried purchasing different blank discs only to have to discard them after the attempt. Is there any way to fix this problem. Can I opt to go back to an old version of itunes? It looks like this problem has been going on for quite a few months now. How do we get Apple to address this problem. I need to have access to MY music that I purchased. This is insane!!!

Seems like all/ most of you use PC's with Windows XP or lower and I have the latest iTunes version on my macbook and it works fine, My desk top is seriously screwed up so i can't update any app I have on it, but it may just be the compatibility with your computer.

Since the error is "unknown" I can't really help you. Sorry.

I had this problem, ran a diagnostic test on iTunes and tested my CDRW drive. The test noted that I had checked the "Include CD text" box under burning preferences, and that I should uncheck this box if I was having trouble burning to CD's. I did this and it worked!
So try: Edit - Preferences - Advanced - Burning and then make sure there is NO tick in the"Include CD text" box.

Having same 4000 error prompt on a XP machine.
I tried repairing ITunes in the add/remove programs and that did not work.
Then I tried the NO CD Text method and it seems to have worked!
