I hate to say it but after you powered the phone on again after it was exposed to water, fried it. If it would have been dried out all the way overnight it may have been fine. Check inside the headphone port with a flashlight and see if the bottom is red or white. If its white you may be able to pull a fast one at an apple store if its red your outta luck and will have to pay the 249 like stated above to get a new phone..

Sorry I got nothing but bad news for you, first off apple wont cover accidental damaged so you may be charge up to 250.00 for apple to fix your iphone. Now you said that your iphone wont turn off, take the sim card out, if you have a back up phone put it in let the iphone Alone for 5 to 7 days and than try to turn it on, and see how it works, I've seen people that said the phone is working just fine, others the phone is just dead. Lest hope yours just comes back ok. Sorry good luck.

It's usually best to turn off an electrical device that gets wet and let it air dry (with power off)at it's own pace, and not rush the drying process with heat from a dryer, stove, etc. Since you can't power it off, the battery will eventually drain, shutting off the phone.

I don't hold out a lot of hope for your phone, but who knows? I suggest in the meantime buy a cheap Go-Phone for your trip or until your iphone becomes operational.

Good luck.
