CDBOOT: Couldn't find NTLDR

hi
I'm trying to install Windows on my iMac, but when he's booting from the CD, this messages comes: CDBOOT: couldn't find NTLDR… I looked, and the file is on the CD
The thing is, I already installed Windows on my iMac with the same CD and it didn't have any problems back then…
I already erased the Bootcamp partition 3 times, but didn't work…

iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.5.2), 1.5GB RAM, 32MB VIDEO RAM

The CD may be dirty or scratched. You might make a copy and see if that works.

a copy? what difference will that make :s

I didn't do anything with the CD, and I tried to install it on my Windows (the Upgrade thing) and he started installing… so… I don't know

I searched the web, but I didn't find any good answers yet

Sometimes a copy will correct errors due to scratches on the original. This has worked for some Leopard DVDs

Is it a full install CE (not an upgrade) of XP with SP2 integrated into it?

I searched the web, but I didn't find any good answers yet

How did you format the Windows partition using BC?

the CD is called: Windows XP SP2, and you can install it on an empty computer, so I think it isn't an upgrade

and I used Boot Camp, I even deleted the partition 3 times and set it back, but didn't work

If it's an upgrade CD you will get that error.
If SP2 is a separate file on the CD, it won't work. BC requires that SP2 be integrated into the XP install package.

I have absolutely no idea if it is an ISO version, I don't even know what an ISO version is…
but what I do know is that I already used the same CD on my iMac and it did work then, I had to clear my iMac because I messed something up…so now I'm stuck here

Hi, I think your problem could be your iMac. If your profile is correct,
you are using a G5 processor. BootCamp will only work on an Intel.

well, I have a Intel Processor… as I said, I already had Windows on my iMac, but I have erased my whole computer, so byebye Windows, now I want it back, but it seems the CD doesn't want to ¬¬

Now you know why many prefer Macs 🙂
I am sure it was the ISO image thing. MS has two different types of CDs. Some computers accept either, others only one or the other.
Regardless, glad you got your winders back up and running.
