If I can't get that working, do you have any idea how to get Dymo's software to print the prefix Mr. & Mrs. contained in my Mac Address book?
My DYMO label printers have been dysfunctional since 10.4 with address book. I can print regular address labels [about 1.2 by 4 inch rolls] fine with DYMOs included software. However I used to be able to print in 10.3 with address book and any other software directly to the labelmaker [e.g., with text edit or Word]. This functionality has been lost with 10.4. It ends up printing in the wrong orientation and cuts off the printing on the label when standard ADDRESS LABELS size are selected from the printing menu [not SHIPPING or LARGE ADDRESS LABELS] after choosing the DYMO printing labels option in address book. Visually on the preview screen, it also cuts it off until you use the zoom in/out slider and will refocus correctly. I have spoken with engineers at DYMO on several occasions and they were able to reproduce my issue on their macintoshes and have since told me that this is an issue related to 10.4. I have multple macintoshes [one of which is a brand new imac] and two completely different DYMO printers and happens on ALL the machines. So I can confidently say this is not a conflict or installation issue.

Did you ever find a solution? I just bought a Dymo Labelwriter 400 Turbo -- back to the store it goes if I'm not happy! I want to print labels directly from Address Book but the label is off to the left and I only get the bottom line of text. Sounds like your problem, right?

I spoke at length with an apple and dymo engineer. It is a known problem in 10.4 and is supposedly an apple related problem. The only way I can print on my dymo turbo 400 printer using a address label setting is to use the dymo label printer software. I think this problem will be corrected in a software upgrade by apple. Adding suffix and titles is a problem in both mac address book and dymo. If you wanted to list John Smith, MD for example, there is no option to include how you want your labels formatted to this level of specification.
You can design your own label in Dymo [not with the mac address book setting however] and type in Mr & Mrs on the first line and then use the command to enter the name after that.

If I set up a label with Mr. & Mrs. as the text, then all labels would print with Mr. & Mrs., correct? What about the ones that are just Mr. or just Mrs.? I assume I would have to set up separate lists?
I'm glad you've spoken with both Apple & Dymo. I really hope they solve this!
And now another question -- anyone know how to print from FileMaker Pro to the Dymo?

Joyce, re: Filemaker Pro, when the Print dialog windows opens, select Dymo as your printer, from the "Copies and Pages" option open Filemaker and select which record you want to print.
First, in Filemaker you will have to make a layout that works with Dymo but if I remember correctly there are label formats included somewhere on demo files that come with the program

I'm with you all in this frustration. Has anyone tried any other single label printers with address book? SoHo also works to print labels but ideally I'd like to do this in address book like I used to.
