Question

PC and Time Capsule

How do you set the disk for use as a nas drive for a pc ? We have 2 mac's and one pc, the pc doesn't see the drive. Everything else on the mac's works as advertised.

Mac Book Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2), Mac Book Pro, Mac Book, IPhone,Time Capsule

Have you set the TC to be in the same workgroup as the PC (e.g. MSHOME)?

The workgroup setting is in AirPort Utility under Disks / File Sharing.

You have to install the airport software for windows to see the drive or access anything connected to the Time Capsule. Download the latest version from Apple.com.

Once I did that it immediately recognized the Time Capsule and asked me to enter the password. If you want to print through Time Capsule you will need Bonjour for Windows.

I didn't install the airport software for Windows and I can see the TC and the USB external drive attached to it. I'm using Vista.

Thanks the airport software needed to be installed, and the norton firewall blocked the disk, all is fine now, and it works pretty good.

We've been having the same problem and posting all over this forum.. This did not solve it for us. Any other ideas?

We've tried having the same workgroup, another person suggested changing the TC's channel to be the same as our wireless on the PC but I don't know how to determine what the channel is on the PC...

Gah. This is getting on my nerves fast.
