word count in keynote

This may be a very simple request, but I'm new to Mac.
How can I get a total word count of a Keynote file?
It's quite urgent.
Thank you in advance,
Yann

Here is one way.

1. Open Microsoft Word with a new document.
2. Open Keynote presentation and set in outline view.
3. Click on the left-hand column where the outline is listed. Use "ctrl A" to select all text.
4. Use "Ctrl C" to copy text.
5. Go to MSWord and paste the text.
6. Under "Tools" click on "Word Count".

It should give you the correct count of all of your text in the Keynote slide. Granted, this includes titles, outlines, etc.

Hope this helps.

This doesn't work for me...- if I happen to have copied/duplicated a slide from above (in the thumbnail view), it copies/duplicates as advertised. So far so good. I then change the text on the slide, but it doesn't change the text in the outline view - what's there is the original text from the original slide. So word counts don't work that way for me. This must be a bug...
