Aplle computers locating Time Capsule; but, no luck with PC

I'm sorry pc and time capsule, I installed the airport setup for windows also bonjour and the workgroup name in the airport disk utillity

Try and shut-off you Windows firewall and see if that helps. Also, turn on file sharing (Windows box.)

The TC will work with both PC's and Mac's, My network has two Mac's and 2 PC's. Can see the TC drive from all computers.

I had the same problem,

1- install the new airport software from the apple web site, under downloads on the mac

2-in the airport utility under manual setup / go to disk / check enable file sharing / under workgroup type in MSHOME

3-update

4- on the pc in control panel / performance and maintenance / system / computer name / change workgroup to MSHOME

5- remove existing windows airport software

6- pc go to step 1 / apple web site download airport software for windows / install / password access should be same as the airport disk utility

the apple web site downloads are an updated version, this was what I did with a little help from everyone here on this discussion. My Daughter uses the pc for college and the backup with norton 360 works great.

I had quite some problems to get my pc to see the time capsule too.
I found the download AirPort Utility 5.3.1 for Windows on the apple support/download page.
Downloaded it and restarted the pc - everything works like a charm.

I use synctoy to back up my pc. That syncs my hard drive to the time capsule from Parallels (which I don't like) perfectly.


Did the same to my dell pc and it works great.
