Inserting a line into a signature in Mail

I am looking for a way to insert a line in a Mail signature that auto adjusts with window size (not just a random amount of underscores). I have seen this used in Mail signatures before, but don't know what the font, function, or keyboard combination is used to put something like this inside of a signature.

Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Hi Dave,

I'm sure there's a more elegant way to do this, but this one worked for me (hopefully you have MS Word).

Open a Word document. Type a string of underscores (~1.5 inches worth), then hit Return. MS Word autocorrects that to a horizontal line. Copy that line, and paste it into the signature in Mail > Preferences > Signatures tab.

Hope this helps...
