Trouble using purchased iTunes music for use in video editing software

I am trying to use some music I purchased, to edit in some home video using Pinnacle Studio software, when I try to find the music in Pinnacle it does not show up,it only shows up in iTunes or Windows Media Player. Any Ideas can the music be converted to a music file, that I can use in any programs?

Purchased video content is DRM protected and cannot be used in any video editing programs whatsoever. They are only for personal playback.

Thanks for the info, but let me clarify. It is not purchased video I am editing. I have purchased music tracks from iTunes, that I want to edit into to my personal home video DVDs,that I would like to add the music to. Is this also DRM protected. On Napster I was able to take my music with me and use in my home videos editing software, but I recently switched to iTunes and would like to continue with iTunes, but if this is not possible,I need to go back to Napster. Thanks again.
