10.4 clients searching 10.5 server
Hi all,
I've recently migrated my server installation from Server 10.2 to brand new hardware on Server 10.5. We're having a problem with searching the 10.5 server: when a client running 10.4 uses the search bar in a Finder window, it briefly (< 1 second) shows the busy logo at the bottom right of the window, and declares there are 0 items. Obviously, it's not trying to find the files.
If the same machine searches the 10.2 server, it works longer and brings back more hits.
Searching from 10.5 clients works just fine- both by filename and Spotlight contents.
ACL's are enabled, but that's not affecting the 10.5 clients.
My designers and production staff are missing their search abilities... any thoughts on what to change, other than "upgrade everyone to 10.5"?
