Just ordered my MBP :)

I ordered my first MacBook Pro yesterday. I am upgrading from a mini so it should be a nice jump in performance. I plan on upgrading the RAM to 4GB once I get it. I got the 2.4GHz, glossy widescreen, and 7200rpm drive.

Hopefully this will be sufficient for iMovie and Final Cut Express which I intend to get into as well.

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.5.2), Intel Core Duo/2GB RAM/100GB HD/SuperDrive ∙ iPod touch 16GB

Hi Dan:

Congratulations on your purchase.

Yes the dedicated video card really makes a difference when using the pro Apps such as Final Cut Express as they are GPU dependent. iMovie should scream.

As for gaming, I don't really know if there will be a difference between 256 or 512 MB VRAM. I have never really understood exactly how the amount of VRAM affects video performance, maybe someone here knows. My guess is it would be about the same
