How do I get Safari to save MP3 website shows to my disk?

One of the main reasons I use the internet is to download talk shows via my browser and listen to them later at my convenience. No problem ever doing this on Firefox, I simply SAVE AS when the show begins and save it wherever I like on my disk. Safari never has yet allowed me to SAVE AS. As this seems like such a basic function, I'm assuming that there's something I'm doing wrong, or certainly do not understand. Anyone able to explain?

iMac 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

An awkward but doable work-around: When the MP3 starts to load go to your Window Menu>Activity (or Command/Option/A keys). Scroll down to the site page and highlight the mp3 entry. Then Command/C to copy. Next, Command/Option/L keys to open the Download manager. Then Command/V to paste. The mp3 ought to start downloading.

I'm using the latest Safari Version 3.1 (4525.13). In Firefox, I can control/click and get the menu, no problem, but not in Safari. Here's a sample URL and many others like it, that do not work: http://www.binnallofamericaaudio.com/mp3s/BOAA318A.mp3

At a typical, information type page, one that is not playing MP3, I can with success control/click and get the menu. For some reason, I'm not able to when attempting to download an MP3 formatted show. Thanks!

I clicked on your link. After allowing the entire clip to load, I clicked the downward pointing triangle in the corner and downloaded the program. The triangle was shown at the end of the playback timeline.

I'm not entirely sure what the issue is here, as when I right-click on the mp3 link above I am able to choose "Download Linked File As..."

Alternatively, just mouseover the link and drag it into Safari's download window.

After allowing the entire clip to load, I clicked the downward pointing triangle in the corner and downloaded the program.

To do what you suggest requires you have QuickTime Pro installed.

Thanks for a solution, though as you say, an awkward one. It's easy in Firefox. I'll try Safari for a while to see if it has other benefits that I'm not aware of. Thanks for the help.
