How can I overwrite a re-writeable cd ?

I burned an audio cd (mp3 files) from itunes onto a re-writeable cd. Now I would like to overwrite that same cd with new mp3s. Itunes asks for a blank cd.

Can I not overwrite the same cd ?

imac, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

No, you can not 'over-write' it, you first have to erase what's on the disc.

Go to 'Applications'
Choose 'Disk Utility' (Not I-Disk Utility!)

Then you'll see the name you previously gave the disc in the left top corner. Highlight that, and opt for 'erase' in the menu where it says 'First Aid', 'erase', etc.. After that's done your disk will be empty again.

CDRW's can be blanked out in other programs - not iTunes.
