Blue Snowball Microphone Distortion

I have this same problem. I just upgraded to leopard and now when I record with the mic there is weird static all the time. If anyone knows anything about this, I would REALLY appreciate the help.

I have had this problem too. I have had this MacBook running Leopard for a few weeks now, and just yesterday I noticed this distortion problem. I had already created two full songs with my Snowball mic, and they turned out fine. I haven't had the problem yet in Audacity. I will test it some more.

maybe this is stupid, but if it was me i would try plugging it into a usb hub that works with leopard. it might stabilize it and fix your problem. dont go out and buy one because i said so though

My girlfriend had this problem, and we tried all sorts of things to get it working before figuring it out:

USB ports are not created equal. Pay attention to which phyisical plug you use on the computer. We found that the plug in the "front", i.e. away from the screen, didn't have this problem while the plug in the back did.

Yeah, I am having the same problem. I've used my Snowball to make some great recordings. I haven't used it for a month or two and now the recoding is badly distorted and with monitoring swtiched on, there is a latency/delay of about 3 seconds...
As mentioned above, it records ok for the first couple of seconds, and then the issue kicks in. I've tried to find solutions on other websites, but it seems there is no resolution yet.

I also waiting on Blue to respond to my email, but I doubt I'll get anything different to the person above...

I have a MXL .006 USB MIC and I'm experiencing the same exact symptoms...Marshall electronics told me that it was Leopard's fault and that they don't have any drivers to fix it.
