I/F cable connection

I/F cable connection

Turned Mac on this Afternoon and a window popped up saying:
"Failed to connect to the device. Check the I/F cable connection between the device and your computer."

What the heck is the device? And, why is it not connecting. What is the I/F cable? The window is annoying because it won't close.

I have the same problem. Every time I restart. There is an "OK" button, but it will not respond to a click. You cannot close the window, you can only try to hide it in some corner. There is a message code: [MTW005]. I have a feeling that the issue is related to Final Cut. I have both FC Express 1.0.1 and FC Express HD installed. Do you have either one of these applications?

I have the exact problem on my G4 iMac. Popped up when I turned it on yesterday morning and won't go away. Nothing plugged in, don't own Final Cut, tried DiskWarrior and Drive Genius. Plugged in my camera and restarted. Out of ideas and very frustrated.

I found the answer in another forum. Apparently the culprit is Brother software, specifically the "TwainBridge" driver. It worked instantly for me. Hope it works for you.

Do you have any devices connected by cable to your computer? If so check that the cables are connected properly.

Checked and re-checked. Plugged and re-plugged. The dang window is still there. luckily I can move it so its way down in the corner so its not in my way.
