When using the calculator it is a lot easier for me to see 86,153,522 as opposed to 86153522. Is there any way to have the display use a comma as a sperator?
The cheapest calculator you can buy since the 1970's realized the value of seperators on an lcd display, Sadly apple took until 10.4 to realize this.
As any mac user knows, the cool time to have a mac was up until 5 years ago, now they are quite limited in their online functionality. And with future software become only available to use online, mac will find themselves shut out.
That is why apple is trying so hard with phones, pods, tv etc etc, they see the writing on the wall in an ever progressing online universe.
Well, sorry I don't agree. Anyone can do arithmetic without separators and many calculators do not and never have had them. So, I'm sorry but I can't empathize with you on this one.
But, then you are free to upgrade your operating system if the feature is that important that you can't live without it.
Sorry, then. I guess that feature wasn't introduced until the later versions of OS X. You could look for a third-party substitute that does provide such a display option. You can find them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate. Just search for "calculator".
I can't believe it too apple this long to realize that seperators are important for calculators, after all it is not like this is new technology.
Maybe they can also wake up and realize that many people like to figure out their mortgage payments and they could introduce time value of money functions too.
the view menu only has show basic, advanced, show paper tape, percisson and display format do not have show seperator either. I have calculator version 3.2.1
