processor upgrade

How do i upgrade my processor? I have a 733 and need to upgrade in order to install Leopard. I am only a novice - could I do it?

PowerPC G4, Mac OS X (10.3.x), PowerBook G3

The process is not difficult. You buy a faster processor, remove the one in the computer, and install the new one. The new processor comes with installation instructions. Here is one popular brand:

May I suggest however that a processor upgrade may not be the best solution. You might want to consider the option of buying a used computer that will run Leopard. The cost should be comparable to the price of the upgrade, and you will be able to sell the one you have.

By the way, it would be useful to have more complete specs of the 733 model you have. Is it a QuickSilver?

CPU's-1
CPU Speed 733 Mhz
L2 Cache 256 KB
L3 Cache 1 MB
Memory 512 MB (Just ordered 2 additional 512 SDRAMS)
Bus Speed 133 Mhz
Boot Rom Version 4.18F5

What do I need to do, in order to upgrade the processor speed, So I can install OS X Lepoard on my CPU?
