I found an iPod today and brought it home. I believe I remember reading on here somewhere that you can report that you found an iPod and if they registered the iPod online that apple can contact them and give them my contact info. Is that true? If so can someone post a link?
Call Apple (1-800-myapple). Give them the serial number of the iPod.
They will forward your contact info to the last registered owner & they can then get in contact with you.
Sorry for double posting but I'd just thought I'd let you know what they said. They said to just turn it into the police station and they'd contact apple and return it to the owner. So if I see a police officer I'll turn it into him or her or I'll stop by the police station as I pass it on the way to work.
Yea, she told me she couldn't give me their info if the iPod was registered. So I asked if it was registered if they could give them my contact info. She said no. It was a foreigner who answered the phone and couldn't speak english very well. Maybe she didn't know?
You are a truly wonderful person.
Not just for trying to do what is right once, but for persisting even when folks have told you they won't help. I know something good will come back to you for your efforts. Good luck finding the owner, and when mine goes missing, I hope you are the one who finds it!
