wireless tethering

Hey everyone. I have a question for Aperture 2. Can a wireless SD card be placed in a D80 and then tethered wirelessly to my iMAC direct via wifi?

imac 24" 2.16, Mac OS X (10.5), 7300gt 3gRAM

I can't answer your specific question, but I am using a Nikon D200 and wt3a using FTP transfer to my MacBook Pro, with Aperture Hot Folder script from Apple and bringing it into Aperture works just fine. So it might work. Steven

Thanks for the response. I was trying to avoid the installation of the camera specific capture software and go directly into Aperture instead.

Is that possible with Aperture 2?

If you look at the Eye-Fi Wi-Fi SD card, it will transfer to a folder, but requires their Eye-Fi Manager Software running. Once an image arrives in a folder, Aperture Hot Folder script will drop it into Aperture (either 1.5.6 or 2.0.1). So if the SD card works in your camera, you should be able to do it.

I would check how far you can be from the computer for the SD to work and how fast the images are transfered. Also I would want to know whether the images remain on the card just in case there are transmission problems.

The Eye-Fi Wi-Fi SD card only supports upload of JPEG images. RAW images (NEF) are not supported according to this: http://support.eye.fi/faq/general/#faq-104

Again, thank you. I considered this option and thought it perhaps the only way as of now. You confirmed what I was thinking...that the Eye-Fi must use its own software. This seems to be easy enough. I will give it a try and post back my results....and yes the card holds the images.
