I have been using iMovie for about 5 years and would like to move to Final Cut Express. What is the learning curve like. Can I watch the tutorials and get comfortable with it. I do a lot of documentary type films. Thanks in advance for any comments that could help me make this decision.
I suggest a One to One at an Apple Store. That is how I am learning and it is going perfectly. YOu get a personal trainer, who gives you a one hour lesson every week, for as much as 52 weeks. All for 100 dollars. (About $2 an hour if you use them all!) Inquire about the topic at your local Apple Store for more information.
It is pretty easy to figure out the basics of fce just by messing around with the program, but these forums serve as a great way to solve the more complex issues you may encounter. Best of luck.
I think there is a tutorial that comes with the program (also there are tons of geniuses in the forum that help ALOT). I started learning early this fall and I'm now able to make pretty good stuff. This program is WAY more powerful than imovie so its really good if you can learn as much as possible to utilize that power.
