ssh client timeout

When I remotely login to other Unix servers with ssh, the connection closes after some period of inactivity. I've seen this problem on other OS and have had to adjust the keep-alilve time. Is there some way to do this on OS X? Thanks!

Add the following lines to ~/.ssh/config

TCPKeepAlive yes
ServerAliveInterval 45

The first ensures that your ssh client is, in fact, doing TCP keep alives, which it should by default. The second is a relatively sane value, in seconds, of the period of inactivity between client and server after which the keepalive will be sent.
