i recently purchased an airport extreme base station for a reasonable price on fleabay and replaced the linksys wrk54g router. i am now able to connect to the workplace vpn, but am having trouble with slow dns resolution/internet browsing. i am able to find network shares and browse the corp intranet with no issues, but thats it. as for your issue with authentication, i would need to know more about the exact nature of the error. there have been some posts here about changing encryption levels etc, and if you are connecting to a w2k or w2003 server, there are things that need to be checked in active directory or rras in regards to client authentication.
