The PC3200/400 most likely compatible is the standard RAM size
(184 pin) in the factory or tech accessed memory slot deep inside.
A quality PC2700/333 Samsung/Apple factory spec 200-pin in the
user upgradeable slot is more than satisfactory for the OEM spec.
My iMac G4 1.25GHz (last model) computer is running a PC3200/400
in the upper slot (to replace a defective PC2700 installed by CompUSA)
and it was stated on the package as being Apple compatible. The chip
in the user upgrade lower slot is a more common laptop 200-pin chip.
The 200-pin compact RAM chip used in the last model iBook G4 is
a compatible product that often is the same or similar one used in
the iMac G4 last models. (A PC RAM reseller is where I bought my
Apple/Samsung iBook 1024MB 200-pin 2700/33 SO-DIMM, the right part.)

The better authorized Apple reseller's web sites and stores will have a
compatible product; some of the newer PC3200/400 chips are backward
to PC2700/333 but they will not run faster than the lower spec. Just be
sure you are getting a quality product meeting highest specs in 2700
and the product information meets or exceeds OEM Apple specs. It
is not outdated if you can still buy it, and the specs are correct; and
the quality is high. (If you do try the PC3200/400, it will show as a
PC2700/333 in your computer's System Profiler, btw.)
The link above is where I bought RAM for my iBook, and the chip is directly
compatible with the iMac G4 1.25GHz computer's lower upgrade slot, too.
Avoid poorer performing RAM and lower brands, or unknowns, since you
should have quality RAM in your computer so OS X 10.x works well.
Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
