MacBook Pro to iMac--Extended Desktop

I work primarily on my MacBook Pro. I have an iMac (24" display-2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) at work that I would like to connect to the MacBook Pro to create an extended desktop b/n the two. Just to be sure, I'd like to know what adaptors/connectors I need to make this connection and what gets connected to what. Thanks.
