Putting DVDs on Itunes

In an article I found on here it says you need a serial number or something that comes with the DVD....is this with most DVDs or can you only use specific DVDs etc? Because if I just wanted to put a film on my Ipod, could I do that?

It's a very few select DVDs. It will say it on the box. There's only a few titles from Fox and Lionsgate available so far, I believe.

Ah right ok then. So if I wanted to put programs on my Ipod, I will have to buy them from Itunes? It just seems a shame when I have them all on DVD here!

All we can advise you here is that you will need to buy the movies or shows from the iTunes Store, and as you probably know, the movie studios have not allowed Apple to sell movies outside the US yet. Ripping DVDs is illegal in the US, so this being a US-based forum, we cannot discuss such matters here. Search the web for more information on the issue.
