# or hash key in Windows XP

Hi,

It would be extremely useful to know the keyboard sequence to get the # character. I use Windows XP via VMWare Fusion.

In OSX its Alt and 3 but I cant find the combo in Windows XP.

I have read the tips in other threads whereby Ctrl + Alt + 3 is meant to work on a Macbook Pro, but I have tried it on my Macbook and iMac (both running Leopard) to no avail.

I am using UK keyboard mapping.

Thanks in advance.

I had a quick look and it will probably be useful.

However, I have solved the problem. I was still running the beta Boot Camp system.

I upgraded my iMac Windows XP environment via my VWWare Fusion interface and it worked perfectly and the # is now available via the Ctrl + alt + 3 combo.

However, I upgraded my Macbook first by booting up into Windows XP from power on and it has not worked the same there. The windows XP startup also required an online license check which was disconcerting but successfully.

Its as if the bootcamp windows environment is treated as 2 different objects, depending upon the access method.

Thanks for the tips.
