Thanks for the new info, Woodsey8
With iSight not working with
any app in
any user account, check to be sure that someone has not removed your
QuickTimeUSBVDCDIgitizer.component file as suggested in this article on how to
Disable integrated iSight cameras. Look manually because Spotlight will not find this file. If it is not there, you will need to restore the file to its correct location in order for your built-in iSight (or any other USB camera) to work.
You should also check whether someone might have installed and set
iSight Disabler 3 for Intel Macs.
If neither of those is causing your problem, and if you have tried
all relevant suggestions in Apple's
How to Troubleshoot iSight, check whether OS X
System Profiler shows your built-in iSight as a USB Device similar, but not necessarily identical, to the one in this picture:
If iSight does NOT show in your
System Profiler, try Apple's
What to do if your computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device.
If your problem persists after trying all suggestions, you likely have a hardware problem that requires professional help. Contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service. Don't forget to backup your important data before talking your Mac for repairs.
Although I do not think it likely to help, if you want to try it in case it might help you avoid a service call, you could
reinstall your entire operating system before taking your Mac in for service. After you have reinstalled Leopard, you can use the Combo method I suggested earlier to update to the latest Leopard version in one update step.
Cheers,
EZ
