HP 2820 all-in-one printer/scanner - scans no more

ever since updating OS to leapoard I cannot get my scanner to work - any ideas? I am dumbfounded as I cannot seem to find any support about scanner setup at Apple or HP support websites. Please help.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

You can obtain a new driver for scanning from hp.com/support. Enter your model, select OS X, then download HP Color LaserJet 2820-2840 Release for Mac OS X 10.5. It claims to have scanning support for Leopard.
