How to open multiple applications at the same time

You could create an applescript to do it.

tell application "Dreamweaver's Full Name"
 activate
end tell
tell application "BBEdit's Full Name"
 activate
end tell
tell application "Acrobat's Full Name"
 activate
end tell

Replace the quoted text (leaving the quotes) with the full name of the application, and save the applescript as an application bundle, and put it in your dock.

NOTE: You may have to put the full path to the application for it to work (I.E. /Applications/Dreamweaver.app). If you do, encase the full path in quotes.

Select the file in Finder, click File>Get Info, expand the "Open With" tab, and choose the app you want it to open with (but DON'T click "Change All"-that changes ALL files with that type to the other app)

that opening screen should have a checkbox asking you whether you want to see it each time you start Acrobat. Uncheck it and you won't see it again.

At least that's how it works in Adober reader. If that checkbox is not there look in Preferences->general.

You need to set it up in Script Editor (/Applications/AppleScript). Copy in the script I gave (the edited, not the original), plug in the app names, and click run. If that works, click File>Save As...
Under "format", select "Application Bundle". Save the file somewhere you'll know where it is (I recommend your Applications folder), and drag it to the dock. Clicking that dock icon should open the specified apps.

you can put it into the script sure. For example, like this

tell application "Adobe Reader"
activate
open file "Users:yourusername:Documents:About Stacks.pdf"

end tell

Hey Joshz, I'd like to thank you also for this tip. First time I used applescript ever!
But tell me why when I put it into the dock it shows up there with a circle with a line through it. It works great from there but the visual is weird. Just like my classic apps when I switched to leopard ( but they wouldn't work).

Never mind. It just took putting it in the dock a couple times for it to take without the symbol. Weird.
