Ghost Printer - disconnected printer still shows up
Here's a weird one. My client just got a new printer to replace a dieing HP 2100. I disconnected the old printer from the network and stuck it in a closet for them to throw out later. 🙂
I hooked up the new printer, then went to the first station to add the new printer and delete the old one. When I go to Add the new printer, the old one still shows up as available!
The new printer works fine (so don't focus on that).
I connected my laptop to the network (I have never printed to the 2100) and go to Add printers, and the 2100 shows up in the list.
The client stations are running 10.3.9, my laptop is on 10.4.2.
The network also has a couple windows xp machines and we're running a 10.2 Mac Server (no print services enabled).
Help!
