Tweaking Mac for Games

Hey. Okay, lots of new gaming opportunities have been coming to the Mac (Tomb Raider Anniversary, NWN 2 and COD 4 are going to come out for the Mac, I've gotten Half-Life 2 working with crossover, etc), and I was wondering if there's anything I can do to get the most performance out of my iMac. For instance, any unnessential processes I could quit, or programs I can use to defrag my computer. I didn't get my mac for gaming, but now that I'm going to be doing some gaming on it, I just want to make sure I'm getting everything I can be out of my computer. Thanks in advance for any tips!

Note: Your iMac's max memory limit may be less than 4GB.

Your Mac does some file optimization in the background for smaller size files. As long as you keep plenty of free space, you should not need to defrag.

Turn off unused Sharing features. Turn off Bluetooth if you are not using it. Turn off Airport if you are not using it. Turn off Dashboard widgets.
