How do I set the TCP/IP Port 9100 for IPP Printing?

I am setting up an Epson Color Stylus 740 printer on a Checkpoint SofaWare firewall which has a USB print spooler. When I add the Epson as an IPP Printer, I cannot figure out how to configure it to use port 9100. When I look at the firewall logs, the firewall is detecting that I am sending port 161 (SNMP) and is thus dropping traffic.

I tried to telnet to the IP ADDRESS:9100 and then type characters and the printer responds so I am sure the firewall is configured properly to allow port 9100 commands. The problem is I cant figure how to specify the IPP printer to use port 9100.

I also looked at the LPR printer configuration and I dont see a printer port there either.

Thanks in advance.

port 9100 printing isn't IPP - it is HP Jetdirect (sometimes called socket 9100). When you choose IP printer > HP Jetdirect in Printer Setup, OS X automatically puts in the :9100. IPP always uses TCP port 631.

Good luck.
