Icon in status bar???

Icon in status bar???

Hello, I have an icon in the status bar that looks like a phone receiver with several dots underneath it and I can not find out what this means. Does anyone know what it is? It just came on today, and it is right next to the battery status indicator in the status bar. Thanks.....

imac, macbook, iphone 8g, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

That symbol indicates the TTY is on. That is the setting for teletype for deaf individuals. If you go to settings, phone and then you will find it, just slide the indicator to OFf. That will fix it.
