I can't get this to work. I've tried both the free edition and the Enterprise edition of RealVNC. I'm getting the message "The server is non-standard, and may fail to work. You can obtain a standard VNC Server from http://www.realvnc.com, or use the Protocol 3.3 option to disable this warning."

If I click "OK", the next message I get is "Incompatible Version. Do you wish to attempt to reconnect to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx?

Thought I'd answer this since there are a few similar questions posted without any real answers to the problem.

YES, you can use TightVNC on a Windows PC to remote control a Mac with it's built in Apple Remote Desktop feature (10.4 and newer). There is only one little check box that normally prevents this though. To enable it, open the Sharing control panel and click on Apple Remote Desktop (which should be checked, meaning it's running) and then click "Access Privileges..." From the next screen, you will see an option that says "VNC viewers may control screen with password:"...click the checkbox to enable it and enter a password of your choice.

I've tried the RealVNC client but it didn't work off the bat and TightVNC does, so I haven't bothered to explore RealVNC further.
