smcfancontrol defaults incorrect!?

Hi, I own a MBP SR 2.2 GHz running Mac OS X 10.5.2.

Yesterday, I installed smcFanControl to set my fan speeds. For some reason, under the preferences, I can't move the sliders and they are stuck at 6000 RPM. There was also a "Higher RPM" profile which I could choose, and that attempt to set my fans to 12000 RPM (The fans only reached 6800 or so according to the sensor). I deleted the "Higher RPM" profile.

I then proceeded to uninstall the program. I quit the program, and I moved it into the trash. After that was done, I redownloaded the file to see if I could get the new "Higher RPM" profile to show up. No dice. This leads me to believe that the program is storing the profiles and settings somewhere, despite the author's insistence that the program does not store any information outside of the program itself.

I also tried uninstalling the program, resetting the SMC on my MBP, and then reinstalling the program. There is still no profile and the sliders will not move and are stuck at 6000 RPM at the left.

Currently I am forced to run FanControl 1.2 (which works flawlessly), but I would like to have the little temperature/RPM monitor in my taskbar.

Has anyone had this issue before and if so how did you fix it?

I would agree with you if it was a problem affecting the majority of users. However, I don't think so. My four bars has nothing to do with it. I only suggested he go to the source rather than post here where he may not:
1. get the help he needs, or
2. get the help he needs quicker at the source.
