O.K.

What about starting Logic with Core Audio Disabled? You do this by holding one or two of the modifier keys down while launching Logic. I can't remember specifically...something like the option key, or the option key and ??... someone jump in and clarify this please 🙂

If Logic opens, than I would look at plug-ins. Do you have any third party plug-ins pre-installed in your auto-load? If so, and you are able to launch Logic without core audio enabled, then I would start by taking that plug-in(s) out of your template, re-save, and then re-launch.

Lets' try that...

take all/any audio components you have out of their folder.. I make a folder called "noncomponents" leave in the same plug-ins folder.. Check master library folder, and user library folder.. Run disk permissions. If you have DiskWarrior run that also.. 9 out of 10 times, when I have an issue with Logic - Disk Warrior will find errors..

If Logic boots up ok - starting moving components back one at a time.

Another idea is to create another account on your mac - log in with that, and see if Logic boots.

I had that happen a long time ago.
It was a plugin issue.

Create a "disabled" folder to store your plugins, and place them all there. Start Logic with no plugins and make sure Logic loads OK. Then place them back into the components folder one at a time until u get the problem. That will be the bad plugin.

Hope this helps.

This happend to me, using an older version of Melodyne Celemony Studio 3.1, (it's resolved in 3.2) Sounds like the Melodyne Bridge Rewire Problem for sure so use spotlight to search & find and delete everything to do with these or go to Macintosh HD>Library>Audio>Plugins>Components and delete, also same again in your user library: home>Library>Audio>Plugins>Components. You may want to trash the Celemony Prefs aswell.

You'll find Garageband, Soundtrack Pro and Final Cut will quit on launch aswell, anything that users Core Audio.
