printing is too light/faint

When printing to an HP Laserjet 2200dn using IP printing, the result is very light. Text and graphics are much darker when printing to the same printer from Windows PC's. All of the macs in our group have the same problem. No problem printing to other HP Laserjets over the network. HP website says that OS X 10.4 includes the latest driver for the printer. Looks like it could be a "print density" setting, but I can't find such a setting.

I have now fixed this problem. It is necessary to enter the "image quality" settings from the print dialog, and disable economode. There are 3 options for this setting. (1) printer's current setting, (2) save toner, and (3) highest quality. Select 'highest quality' and then save this setting as a preset.

This appears to be a bug. The "printer's current setting" should reflect the printer hardware setup, which is economode=OFF, but apparently it doesn't.
