Studio Display 17 inches CRT ADC and brightness
HELP...
I bought a used Apple Studio CRT 17 inches, the last that apple manufactured (flat CRT, ADC). I don't have any manual for it. And there is no PDF or whatever instructions about it on the Apple site and anywherelse wich is quite surprising!!!!
My problem is that there is no brightness adjustment on this monitor, either hardware or software. Only contrast. Since i am using it for retouching photos and for video, i must have a good calibration of it. How can I acheive that if i cannot adjust the brightness? With a calibration device as the MONACO optix or other, you have to adjust the brightness to acheive a good calibration. If i play video (on final cut), blacks are too loo...If i use the monitor in a photoshop environment or only use it on day to day work, blacks seems too high.
I decide to put the gamma at 2.2 wich, if i got it well, tends to be the universal way to adjust now, even the Mac Monitors.
How come there is no brightness control on such a monitor???? And how come i don't find anything about that monitor, especially on this Apple site?????
Thanks for any infos or help.
Richard
