Only printing about half of the page

Lance, and others,

If you have the drivers that came with 10.4, and if you have added ALL printers, versus simply the basic 1280, then this should not be happening. In the Page Setup and Print dialogue, how many different, functional, names for the 1280 do you have to choose from?

More info, please, particularly about whether you installed any drivers, manually?

I have had that problem since I installed the Tiger OS in May. Have upgraded, now have 10.4.3. but still unable to print or scan.
I usually get pages of gibberish, usually 2 -6 lines per page, that will not quit printing (and wasting paper), until I turn the printer off.
Occasionally, it will actually print something - but stops after about 1/3 or 1/2 of a page.
Essentially, since installing Tiger about 6 months ago, my iMac and printer are useless.
Also, the computer is s-l-o-w-e-r than the 2nd coming!!
I bought myself a PC laptop and have to use that connected to the printer if I need to print something.
About ready to dump this 3 year old iMac.

I have the same problem. Half the time my printer doesn't print at all. Some of the time it will print half of a page or get stuck in the middle of printing. Also when i delete printing jobs it doesn't seem to really delete them from the printer. It is so fustrating. I still can't find much of an answer, but it looks like a lot of people are having this problem.
