Mozilla Firefox won't start...

Hey @ all!
I downloaded Firefox and used for 2 month without any problems.
2 days ago Firefox wanted to install an update, which failed.
Now if want to start Firefox it hops a few times and then happens nothing. It doesn't seem to be opened. If you click on it again it hops one time.

Does this problem result from the update?
I already downloaded a new install-file from the internet and dragged it into the program folder (overwrote the old file). The problem remains....

Can you help me??

Go to the Library folder in your home directory. In the Application Support folder, remove the "Firefox" directory, and in the Preferences folder remove the "org.mozilla.firefox.plist" file. Then try starting FireFox again.

I never let Firefox auto update.

Grab the latest official, or even 3.0 pre Minefield, now that it is close to done and looks stable (been using 3.0 betas for months).

It might, so move them to the desktop for now. If they're corrupt then they wont allow FireFox to open, and the only option will be to replace them. If the problem still persists, you can move them back from the desktop to preserve the contents of the files, and look elsewhere for the problem.

Can i manually insert my bookmarks from a file now (if i have one)?

Generally when specific applications start to behave oddly its because of that applications' preferences and other user-specific resources. Dunno why this happens, but it's happened here and there and is an easy fix.
