Quicktime movie rental playback

Apple changed format of video for download so they will not play in iTunes but do play fine in quicktime.
With the iTunes movie rental quicktime is displaying message "Authorization needed" with no way to do that. Does anyone know if it is possible to overcome this.

iTunes and QuickTime work together. In fact, your iTunes won't function correctly without the proper version of Quicktime, so I'm not sure what you're referring to.

The movie should play within iTunes. What happens when you attempt to play it in iTunes?

Regarding the authorization issue...is the computer authorized? (iTunes, Advanced, Authorize Audible Account.)

iTunes does not play tv shows or movies purchased from iTunes store. They are very choppy at best and usually freeze. By opening the file in quicktime they will play.
It probably has something to do with the newer formats requiring larger video ram and faster video cards Unless I buy a new computer.
So they do play by starting them in quicktime without iTunes. he question revolves around quicktime requiring authorization for the rental movies, not purchased only rentals.
Yes the computer is authorized.
