Hey guys, I have only had my white MacBook just over a week and the keyboard is getting pretty dirty! It looks like dirty fingerprint smudges all over the wristpad spots and on the sides of the keyboard. So I am just wondering, what is the best way to clean my MacBook? Someone suggested clorox wipes to me, but I don't know if that would do something to the white color or something?! Thanks in advance!
I don't know about the keypad or wrist rests, but I use a citrus based product to clean the outside. The polycarbonate shell is pretty tough stuff. Also, I wash my hands before using my Macbook.
A regular household Mr. Clean Magic Clean Eraser has helped me clean my wrist pad/track pad. I recently got pencil lead on it, and used the eraser. Worked good over the wrist pads, and the keyboard. Use sparingly, though.
As posted above, the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works very well on and around the keyboard area. I also wipe over what I have "erased" using a paper towel with a light spray of glass cleaner. I then use the paper towel and glass cleaner on the outer casing and bottom of my MacBook. For the screen I spray a little bit of glass cleaner on the microfiber cloth that was supplied with the MacBook. I do this about once a week and it always looks clean!
