Q: New Combo Drive not recognized

I just upgraded my powerbook G4 Titanium with a new Combo DVD drive to replace the old CD drive which was not working anymore. I installed Patchburn but it says that it does not recognize the drive. Are there any other drivers that I should be looking for?

Powerbook G4 Titanium, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

    Hi,

You'd get a faster and more experienced response if you posted this in the G4 forum rather than this one which is for G3 and earlier.

I know that with older computers you sometimes had to press the CUDA button to get them to recognize new hardware but I don't know about G4s.

Does System Profiler see the drive?

Patchburn just applies to the burning ability of the drive. If the drive is not recognized by the OS I don't think Patchburn will do any good.

What brand and model is the combo drive ?

    And what OS ?
