Nope, and I don't access a Yahoo account with my iPhone either.
This is not an iPhone problem, so no one here will likely be able help you with a technical support issue/problem with a Yahoo account either.
It is free and for the most part, you get what you pay for.
I believe Gmail is the exception to that.
How do you know it's a Yahoo problem? Couldn't it be an Apple problem as well?
Common sense, for one reason.
A connection to the server failed error message when an email account is checked for new messages is usually a problem at the server - a very high percentage of the time.
A process of elimination for another reason.
If you are accessing another email account with the iPhone's Mail client, and no such problem with the other account or accounts, BINGO!
If your connection to the internet is working otherwise, this is another BINGO but not as significant as the first.
News reports for another.
And last but not least, a large number of posts here from time to time reporting problems with a free Yahoo account, including copies of email correspondence from Yahoo technical support personnel admitting the problem lies with Yahoo, and we are working on it - blah, blah.
The problem has now been fixed...
Today I talked to a friend who said he had been calling me all day only to get some kind of recording saying that my line was not in service. So I called AT&T today (their emergency line) and discovered that some moron from AT&T turned off my data plan. No wonder why I couldn't access the internet or email all day yesterday.
So I got them to give me an extra 500 minutes for this month.:)
