I got a New Mac Pro and tried the firewire connection to my old G4. The book said to connect the firewire then restart the old mac while holding down the T key. When I do this the old mac shuts down. Does anyone know a solution to the problem?
I also have had a problem when trying to connect my new macbook pro as a hard drive to my powermac G5 using a firewire cable, a message pops up saying the the hard drive has no volume? I have been able to connect my other powerbook G4 as a hard drive to the powermac. I am doing the normal things like holding down T when connecting. can anyone help?
Your advice, check article, Target Disk Mode solved the problem for me connecting the two macs by firewire. The difference was instead of starting up the old mac holding down the T key the article said to hold down the T key on the new mac while starting.
Thanks again!
