Auto-Brightness not working.

Auto-Brightness not working.

Well I'll get straight to my problem; even though I have auto-brightness enabled the screen brightness always stays the same. Not sure what is going on here...I have had the same issue with my previous iPhone that was replaced by this one for a different issue.

MacBook Air, AL iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

Do you have a case on your phone? If you do it may be covering the auto brightness sensor.

The iPhone checks brightness when it wakes up from sleep. Make sure your brightness level is not set to minimum.

To check: in a bright room hold your thumb over the sensor above the ear piece.
Turn the phone off, then on.
Enter the home screen.
It should be dim.
Remove your thumb it should change brightness.
