I recently installed the latest version, and now I can not access the iTunes store.
No error, just "accessing iTunes store".
it seems as though iTunes can not access the internet at all. Radio , software update, etc. No error for any of these.
I can get anywhere on the internet from the same computer. I can also access the iTunes store from a PC in on the same network.

any help is appreciated

mac book, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

Try following some of the advice here:

Can't connect to the iTunes Store

Im having the same issue. I just "upgraded" to Leopard on my G4 because the new Ipod wont work on 10.3. Now the store just hangs.. I have no idea what it is. I sent in a help request and all I got was check the support site. Apple is a big help

I agree, some "genius" huh ....
I still have not resolved it. All they told me was it must be on my end...

I tried this article, this was the 1st thing Apple support had me do. A complete waste of time.
    Nothing changed.
Sad this is, I see numerous articles and posts with the same issue, only Apple ignores the problem.

Same problem here, just seems to hang once in the store. Apple told me to carry out a complete system re-install, made no difference. Do you have any problem in accessing the main apple site too? It does the same hanging thing at, but works with the ip address?????
Let me know if you get anywhere!!!

Add one more to the list with this complaint.

I have two users on this MacBook Pro. Both use the same iTunes account and both were able to connect to the iTunes Store until today. Now one account works fine but the other cannot connect, not will it synch contacts for this user. (Keeps saying there are no contacts in Address Book when there are.)

So far, none of the usual methods or suggestions has fixed this.

    Very frustrating!

Still the same, I have to close iTunes like 5 or times and sometimes I get lucky. But then It will hang when I try to search for music. So Apple is the one losing money since I cant buy anything.
Safari is the same , but at least I have fire fox.
Once again, no one is accountable, they just ignore the problem, and now I see more and more people with the same issue.
I may try the new account though and see if this helps.

I do not have a problem specific to the main apple site.
Safari will hang for any site, but I use fire fox now and have no trouble.
iTunes is the real issue, since I do not have another app to replace it.
    Apple just ignores the problems.

When I'm away from my home ISP, I can NOT access iTunes (no error message, just infinitely trying), while other computers around me can access iTunes.

But when I plug into a ethernet DSL cable, I can suddenly and immediately access iTunes.

Other macs around me can get on using Airport wireless, but not me. I have to plug in. This only happens when I am away from my home ISP (Wildblue). And it only started recently -- perhaps when I upgraded iTunes last??

yup, I bet the upgrade did it, thats when it all went down hill for me.

your ethernet cable made me think of trying this since I am using wireless.
The issue still happens, only less frequently. I used to have to try like 5 or 6 time with iTunes, but now it seems with the ethernet cable it 1 or 2 times.

disregard, It must have been just dumb luck. it is back to not connecting again.

One more user here with the same issue. Come on Apple if we want into the store we are wanting to spend $$ with you!! I would hope this is a priority item if upgrades are fencing out our customers.

I had the same problem. I think I isolated it to an issue with users that had parental controls enabled. When I turned off parental controls, all the users that were having trouble were able to access iTunes store. Could be coincidence, but it worked for me.
