Picture and Text on angles in Keynote?

Hi All,

I have searched and searched but cant find an answer to this.

Is there a way you can place pics and text at an angle in keynote so that it looks like its hanging on a wall? I suppose i am looking for a 3D type effect that gives a different perspecive to text and pics like you see in apple charts in keynote.

Thanks.

Hello,
here is another (unconvenient) way, to add the 3d effect: Create an new Keynote Presentation with the desired theme. Put the image onto a slide, got to the Build-inspector, chose "Build-Out" an select "Flip". You can add some reflection to the picture too.
Now got to File->Export->Quicktime->Format: Full Qualitiy, Large and export the Slide with the Transition.
Open the Quicktime file, and move the little progress-triangle to the desired position (where the image gets rotated). Chose Edit->Copy, swith to Keynote an chose Edit->Paste.

Place an image into a slide...
Click on the photo in the slide.
Open the Inspector and go to the Metric Inspector tab (look's like a ruler).
At the bottom of the Inspector window you'll see a rotating tool...

Same can be done with text...with a few changes on how to place text in a slide.

Place a shape into a slide. Double click on the inside of the shape. Now you can type text inside the shape. Go to the Graphic Inspector tab. This is where you can eliminate the background and boarder for the shape. Then go to the Metric tab (like the above example) a rotate the shape to your liking.

There's a workaround that involves having the Developer tools installed and using Quartz to perform a sort of perspective but only if you're using OS X 10.5. You'll find the steps on this page.

I really wish I knew how to turn a .qtz file into a full application. It wouldn't be anything fancy, but it at least wouldn't require users to have the Dev tools.

I use a distorted image using perspective for almost all book covers in my Keynotes. I use Photoshop to distort the image, then import into Keynote. However, that said, Powerpoint 2008 has ready-made angular distortions for a 3D effect which is pure copy-and-paste into Keynote. The distortions are preconfigured, whereas in Photoshop you can play to your heart's content.
