Problems when trying to capture

When trying to capture from my Sony-DCR-PC5 to my iMac i get "Preview Disabled" and when i try to capture anyway i says "no video".

Besides the camera i only have the keyboard and mouse connected and i have reinstalled quicktime and trashed prefereces but it still don't work.

I would be really greatfull for any other suggestions on how to fix it.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

First i set the time in the lower left window to 00:00:58:16 and the right windows time to 00:02:58:16.
Then i clicked om "Clip" and a "Log Clip" window came up. I filled in the name and left the "Log Note" and "Mark Good" fields unmarked and then clicked on ok. A new window appeard and it said preparing to capture and then cuing source material. The camera started to play with picture but stopped after 1 sec and at the same time the message "This operation could not be completed as there is no video" came up on the screen again. The camera paused at the same time.

Did this problem ever get resolved? I'm using the same Sony DCR-PC5 mini-DV camera, have everything seemingly correct in setup, can control the camera from the capture control panel, but I get no preview, instead color bars with "PREVIEW DISABLED" indicated. When I try to capture it gives me an error that there is "NO VIDEO". Driving me crazy!! The camera actually plays but just the color bars and preview disabled words on my MAC screen.

Running this on a brand new Mac Pro, all latest Leopard updates and FCE-4 updates installed. Any help here would be GREAT!! 🙂

thanks,
